How we check evidence

Every Verified mark on ChannelSkills was checked against a real source.

This page explains how evidence is checked, what Verified means, and shows a public log of recent verifications. No personal data is shown.

01

How evidence is checked

Staff at a company confirm their work email, then add evidence with a link to its source, such as a vendor certification page. Automatic checks then look at it: does the link work, is it on the vendor's own site, does the credential match our catalogue, does the person's email match the company, are the dates current, and has anyone else already claimed it. Anything that looks wrong is flagged for a person.

02

What Verified means

Verified means the claim was confirmed against an official source in one of two ways. Either a ChannelSkills reviewer checked it by hand, or the vendor's own public record matched it exactly: the same credential, the same issuer, the same person and still in date. Anything else stays labelled as claimed by the company and adds nothing to a score.

Automatic vendor-record checks are currently off. While they are off, a person reviews every claim.

03

AI never verifies on its own

AI may write a short summary to help a reviewer, but it cannot mark anything Verified. Automatic verification uses fixed rules against the vendor's own record, not AI judgement. Every automatic check and its result is written to a log that cannot be edited or deleted. Reviewer decisions are kept in our audit trail.

04

No pay-to-rank

Payment and popularity never change verification, scores or search order. Company size and CRN list position never change verification or scores; Ask uses list position only to break ties and answer size questions. Being a Founding member does not change a score either. See the scoring methodology.

05

Freshness checks

Verified evidence is re-checked about every 30 days. If a source link stops working, or a credential has expired or is about to, it is marked for a person to look at. Expired evidence stops counting towards a score. Nothing is deleted without a person deciding. To report a mistake, use Corrections & Disputes.
